Freebird Europe Aircraft Suffers Nose Landing Gear Damage at Antalya Airport

A Freebird Europe Airbus A320-214, registered 9H-FHB, sustained damage to its nose landing gear during a ground handling operation at Antalya Airport in Türkiye.

According to a statement from Freebird Airlines, the aircraft’s nose landing gear was damaged while the aircraft was being towed. A technical assessment is currently underway to determine the extent of the damage.

The airline confirmed that the aircraft had been out of commercial service since November 3, as it was undergoing preparations for return to its owner following the expiration of its lease agreement.

Freebird Airlines emphasized that the incident would not affect its flight operations. Once the damage assessment and reporting process is completed, the necessary repairs and component replacements will be carried out to restore the aircraft to operational condition.

No personnel were injured during the incident. The airline added that coordination is ongoing between the Turkish State Airports Authority (DHMI), the ground handling company, and its technical teams.
